As a management-side law firm owner, Ms. Burwell successfully managed the majority of the firm’s litigation and litigated many highly publicized cases. She creatively resolved contentious disputes prior to and during litigation and regularly diffused hostile and/or violent employment situations for clients.

In over 30 years counseling employers daily on employment issues, including terminations, disciplines, violence issues, claims of hostile work environment, discrimination, requests for accommodations, etc., only one client had ensuing litigation and that case was settled with the plaintiff agreeing to walk away with zero.

Ms. Burwell served as the national employment counsel for several national corporations and was panel counsel to numerous insurance companies writing employment practices liability insurance (EPLI) since the inception of EPLI. 

For the last several years, as a seasoned investigator focusing on high-level independent investigations, Linda Burwell has also been retained by law firms or boards to review internal investigations that they have conducted in order to offer advice on what could have been done better or how to improve their process.

With her expertise in employment law, Ms. Burwell often consults with other law firms on high-level employment matters.  She offers the following specialized services to in-house counsel, law firms and insurers:
